Welcome to My Writing Journey
Hello! My name is Paul Schmidt. I’m an author currently working on my debut novel, The Awakening. This blog is my space to connect with readers, share my journey, and explore the themes of faith, transformation, and hope through the lens of contemporary Christian fiction—for both adults and young adults.
You’ll also find devotionals, reflections, and scripture-based insights like this one below.
Your Faith Has Saved You
“Then He said to the woman, ‘Your sins are forgiven.’ And those who sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, ‘Who is this who even forgives sins?’ Then He said to the woman, ‘Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.’”
— Luke 7:48–50 NKJV
In a room filled with judgmental eyes, Jesus looked past the shame and into the heart of a woman who simply believed. He didn’t demand perfection. He didn’t ask for rituals. He responded to faith.
She came to Him broken. He forgave her completely.
“Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
That’s the heart of the gospel. And it’s the heartbeat of my writing.
My Purpose in Writing
I write because stories have the power to heal, convict, and draw us closer to truth. Just like this moment in Luke 7, I want my words to reflect the grace of Jesus—the kind that meets us in our lowest moments and tells us, “Go in peace.”
Whether you’re exploring fiction, faith, or both—my hope is that you’ll find encouragement here.
Venturing into Social Media: An Author’s Tale of Perseverance
After eight years of writing, rewriting, editing, and proofing The Awakening, I thought the hard part was over. But I was wrong.
Turns out, getting published means having an online presence. Before anyone reads a word, they want to see your tweets, scroll through your selfies, and enjoy your hashtag game. And here I thought hashtags were just modern-day pound signs.
So now I’m here—venturing into the land of blogs, bios, and “Insert Header Image Here.” It’s awkward. It’s new. But I’m doing it anyway.
I spent nearly a decade crafting this novel because I believe in its message—about faith, family, and transformation. If learning to “engage online” helps get it into readers’ hands, then it’s worth it.
And if you’re reading this, that means one thing:
I didn’t delete the post.
Progress.
Thanks for visiting. I’m honored you’re here.
